About this database.

This database was put together from a directory listing of the entire UK. The data is not quite complete and will not list every property for a particular postcode. However it should at least give you an address for most postcodes.

I original was going to use Access for my database backend but it proved to slow for over 9 million records. I decided to use Paradox with the Borland Database Engine and the speed was hugely increased. It is even faster than searching a text file a faction of the size.

I have placed no restrictions on this search engine. You can use it as often as you like.

At the moment you can only search for postcodes but you will be able to search for Streets and Areas.
